About Lake Fayetteville Bicycle Skills Park
The Lake Fayetteville Bicycle Skills Park in Fayetteville is a small, family-friendly practice area on the north shore of the lake, built for riders who want to work on balance and bike handling in a low-pressure spot. It’s a great add-on to a lap around Lake Fayetteville, especially if you’re riding with kids.
Trail details
This isn’t a big dirt-jump or pump track setup. Instead it’s two skills courses, one for beginners and one for intermediate riders, built mostly from wooden ramp structures. The beginner course has low ramps sitting about 6 to 12 inches off the ground, so young children and new riders can roll them safely. The intermediate course adds log and stone obstacles plus taller ramps up to around 3.5 feet for riders ready to progress.
It’s best for kids learning to ride, families, and anyone wanting to build confidence on features before hitting more technical trails.
The park / where it is
The skills park sits at North Shore Park on the north side of Lake Fayetteville, around 1208 E. Lake Fayetteville Road. It was built as a collaboration between the City of Fayetteville and volunteers from Ozark Off-Road Cyclists (OORC), with funding from the Walton Family Foundation, and it sits right next to the lake’s soft-surface trails.
There’s parking at the North Shore area, and the broader park offers restrooms, the paved lake loop, and easy access to the rest of Lake Fayetteville. Dogs are welcome on leash in the area.
Connected & nearby trails
The skills park is part of the bigger Lake Fayetteville Park, so warm up on the ramps and then head out for the 5.5-mile paved loop or the beginner singletrack around the lake.
If your riders are ready for a proper little bike park with a pump track and flow lines, Gregory Park across town is a natural next step.
For a flat, easy connector ride nearby, the Mud Creek Trail Corridor is a good low-key option, and when the kids are ready for real singletrack, Kessler Mountain Regional Park has a full trail system.
Know before you go
The wooden features ride best when dry; they can get slick right after rain, so give them time to dry out. Helmets are a must, especially for kids. This is a shared, casual space, so take turns on the courses and keep an eye out for little ones learning nearby. It’s an easy year-round stop whenever the weather’s decent.
