About Runway Bike Park at The Jones Center

Runway Bike Park sits on The Jones Center campus in downtown Springdale, and it is one of the most fun paved riding spots in Northwest Arkansas. Instead of dirt, this is a big asphalt skills park built around one of the largest asphalt pump tracks in North America, and it is free to ride.

Trail details

This is not a singletrack mountain bike system – it is a compact, paved skills park covering roughly 2.75 acres. It breaks into three areas:

  • The pump track – a large Velosolutions asphalt pump track you can roll without pedaling once you get the rhythm.
  • The bicycle playground – low, gentle features made for ultra-beginners and little kids.
  • The skills course – three progressive asphalt lines (beginner, intermediate, advanced) with rollers and berms so you can build up as you get comfortable.

Because it is all asphalt, it rides well on mountain bikes, BMX bikes, skateboards, and scooters. It is a great place to learn pumping, cornering, and bike control before you take those skills to the dirt.

The park – where it is

You will find Runway at The Jones Center, 922 E. Emma Avenue, right in downtown Springdale. The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset and it is free. The Jones Center is a community campus, so there is parking on site, restrooms, and water nearby, and it is an easy connection off the Razorback Regional Greenway. Note that pets are not allowed in the bike park areas.

Runway is the paved skills piece of Springdale’s riding scene, and it pairs naturally with the city’s dirt.

  • Fitzgerald Mountain – just minutes away, this is Springdale’s rocky singletrack system where you can put your pump-track skills to work on real trail.
  • Thunder Chicken Trailhead – another Springdale spot with flow, jumps, and its own pump track and mini skills area at the lot.
  • Lake Fayetteville Bicycle Skills Park – if you like paved skills features, this Fayetteville park is worth the short trip south.

Know before you go

Since it is paved, Runway rides year-round and dries fast after rain, which makes it a solid option when the dirt is too wet. Wear a helmet, watch for younger riders and skaters sharing the space, and take turns on the pump track. It gets busy after school and on nice weekends. Leave pets at home.
